Achieving Elite Status
Since 2015, Bay Harbor Yacht Club has been honored with one of the most prestigious awards a private club can be bestowed, to be recognized as a Distinguished Club of the World. This award is selectively given to the finest private clubs, ranking Bay Harbor Yacht Club amongst the top five percent.
The Distinguished Club award is the only merit-based program in the private club industry, and the only one that recognizes the club, its management and its staff for outstanding delivery of exceptional member experience. This award program is conducted by BoardRoom magazine, one of the most respected trade publications servicing private clubs.
The methodology includes committee nomination; a site visit with Kathleen Muneio, CCM, CCE and General Manager of Bay Harbor Yacht Club, as well as department heads throughout the Club; a formulaic audit based on compiled site-visit data; awards and recognition; and yearly verification.
This year, Bay Harbor Yacht Club is honored to have been granted the Distinguished Clubs Special “ELITE” Designation. In order to qualify for an ELITE designation, the club must have an overall club Member Experience score of 8.5 or greater; must clearly be viewed as one the top echelons of local and regional reputation and recognition; and key members of the leadership team and staff must have demonstrably superior training and experience; among additional criteria.

Renovations are scheduled for completion in June 2021.
